Earlier, in a press release on Friday, Future Retail had stated the order of the single-member bench would haven’t any affect on the continued proceedings earlier than the Nationwide Firm Legislation Tribunal (NCLT), which is presently going by way of the scheme of association between the Future Group and Reliance Retail.
The NCLT has reserved its order over the scheme of association that entails the consolidation of Future Group’s retail and wholesale and transferring it to Reliance in a deal that was introduced in August final yr.
The Future-Reliance deal, which is contested by world e-commerce main Amazon, has already obtained clearance from the Competitors Fee of India (CCI), Sebi and bourses, and the scheme of association is now awaiting the nod from the NCLT and shareholders.
