NEW DELHI: Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday stated that fugitive businessmen Vijaya Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are “coming again” to India” to face the regulation.
The federal government is pursuing the extradition of Mallya and Modi from the UK whereas Choksi is believed to be in Antigua.
Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi are all coming again to face regulation of the land, Sitharaman stated within the Rajya Sabha whereas replying to a debate on the insurance coverage modification invoice.
Mallya, an accused in financial institution mortgage default case of over Rs 9,000 crore involving his defunct Kingfisher Airways, is within the UK since March 2016.
Nirav Modi and his maternal uncle Choksi fled the nation allegedly after committing fraud within the public sector lender Punjab Nationwide Financial institution. Modi is accused of committing a fraud of USD 2 billion (round Rs 14,500 crore) within the PNB.
