Rallies held to mark World Water Day.
College students and employees of Maris Stella Faculty organised a programme on the event of World Water Day on the school premises on Monday. The workshop was organised by the Chemistry division.
Retired engineer Mullapudi Krishna Mohan, who was the chief visitor for the programme, defined concerning the rising urbanisation, shortage of water and the rising air pollution of water our bodies.
Stressing the necessity to save water, he requested the scholars to save lots of each drop of rainwater by digging percolation tanks. Later, the scholars examined groundwater samples on completely different parameters.
Mr. Krishna Mohan praised the scholars for arranging work on completely different strategies of water conservation. Chemistry division head Vani Latha, judges Usha Kumari and Sunanda distributed prizes to the winners. College students of the NSS Unit of Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering Faculty (VRSEC), Kanuru, organised an consciousness rally from the school campus to Kanuru, in reference to World Water Day.
